- Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women in the United States.
- We are more likely to be killed, beaten, or raped by our husbands and boyfriends than
anyone else.
- We often choose to stay in abusive relationships and try to make them work.
- Both of you need to get help to stay together or to move on.
We won't tell you to leave or stay with your husband or boyfriend, that’s your decision. No
matter what you decide he doesn't have a right to hurt you. Understanding why men batter
and the warning signs can help you stop the violence, leave abuse and define you.
If you are in a violent relationship, you must make a transition from violence (verbal, sexual, physical, financial, or emotional abuse) back to a good or safe relationship. IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT but you can help end the abuse.
